Puniu Lodge
A stone’s throw off the main track and adjacent to the wildlife mecca of Cane’s Clearing, it’s the perfect place to sit in nature’s embrace—or head off on the hunt for something a little more adventurous.
Puniu Lodge is a contemporary yet organic space designed to bring people together. Complemented by five thoughtfully crafted sleeping chalets, built from a blend of modern and authentic materials, finished with beautiful handpicked collections of art and heritage furniture, which reflect the true essence of Real Native.
The chalet’s are fitted as twin single rooms, with one larger chalet that sleeps up to four people. Sleeping arrangements can be customised upon request, including king suite configurations for couples.
Quality linen, towels and thoughtful touches of generous hospitality accent the rooms.
Four micro-suite bathrooms offer a refreshing and memorable experience inviting guests to truly unwind and wash away the rush of everyday life.
The entire site has been designed with sustainability at its core. From composting waste systems to a unique off-grid hydro-powered energy source – staying at Puniu Lodge means you can relax with a clear conscience, knowing your footprint is ultralight.
Shepherds Rest
Situated at the top of the Garden of Eden – In a world of its own, enjoying panoramic views of undulating grass-scape, dotted with a patchwork of mature native trees, it’s a safe-haven for abundant wildlife, and so tranquil that you will never want to leave….
The shared area of the Shepherd’s Rest is a rustic space, taking its inspiration from an authentic musterers’ campsite. Thoughtfully designed to capture all-day sun and invite the outdoors in, it encapsulates the charm of yesteryear blended with touches of modern living.
Allowing you to embrace the pace of simpler times, cooking on a woodfired stove and popping the billy on, with everything you need and nothing you don’t – this is a rare opportunity to enjoy a truly authentic stay in the backcountry without compromising on comfort.
A series of sleeping chalet’s are tucked around the site, offering four twin single huts and one larger chalet accommodating up to four guests. Sleeping configurations can again be customised upon request to include king suites for couples, and a couple of bunks to elevate the backcountry experience.
